Kanban Essentials

Toyota's culture in the IT world. It presents the mechanics of the Kanban system and creates the habit to search for inefficiency in the production process.

Toyota conquered the market by focusing on fast delivery to the customer, removing waste and continuous improvement. Systems based on these assumptions were called Lean to distinguish them from mass production based on resource utilization and top-down planning.
"Kanban Essentails" will show you how to apply the idea of Lean production in software development, focusing on the implementation of the Kanban System. During discussions, exercises and simulations, you will learn how you can control the production process and ensure a smooth flow of the product throughout the system.
The course also shows how to use other Lean production tools such as the Andon system, the Value Stream Mapping technique, and ways to search for and remove bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Numerous examples, both from the IT world and from the history of Toyota allow you to better understand the material and relate it to your situation. First of all, the aim of the course is to teach the Lean culture and focus on continuous improvement of the system by using the potential of all employees.

The training is intended for people working on creating and maintaining software. It is particularly useful for teams with high variability of requirements, such as maintenance, or the process phases imposed by the contract (stage-o-gate).

Basic - 1 day training.  Scope can be expanded to 2 days on request.
