Design Thinking – From empathy to action
Are you tired of brainstorming sessions that lead nowhere? This training will show you how to truly solve complex problems – from understanding users to testing solutions.
Design Thinking is a hands-on process that helps teams stop guessing and start acting with purpose. You will learn how to look at challenges through the eyes of the user, generate valuable ideas, and test them quickly, cheaply, and effectively.
You will also learn how to facilitate the entire process – engaging your team and guiding them towards sound decisions.
Who is this training for?

This training is for anyone who wants to solve complex problems better – in products, services, teams, or organizations. It will be especially useful for:
- Product Owners and Product Managers who want to make more accurate product decisions,
- UX Designers who are looking for structure in their work with users,
- Team leaders and managers who want to engage people and support collaboration,
- HR and L&D specialists who want to foster a culture of learning and creative thinking.
It works equally well for digital products, services, internal processes, strategy, or organizational development.
What will you learn?
- How to ask the right questions and get to the root of a problem before jumping to solutions
- How to choose tools for each phase of the process and guide the team with clear goals
- How to run meetings and workshops that people actually want to join – and that deliver real value
- How to support creative thinking in your team, even if people don’t see themselves as “creative”
- How to design and test ideas that can actually be implemented
- How to document the process in a way that supports decision-making, instead of producing “workshop notes”

Training agenda
Understanding
You’ll start by building a shared understanding of the challenge. You’ll analyze the context, assumptions, and project constraints using tools like stakeholder maps and semantic analysis.
Observation
Step into the user’s shoes. Learn how to conduct interviews, observations, and apply methods like Service Safari to gather qualitative data and uncover hidden needs.
Synthesis
Organize and make sense of your data. Build personas, create empathy maps, and turn scattered insights into a clear design challenge.
Ideation
Time to get creative! Explore idea-generation techniques such as brainstorming, the Philips 66 method, and reverse brainstorming. Learn how to balance divergent and convergent thinking in the team.
Prototyping
Turn ideas into tangible forms – with paper, LEGO, or simple office supplies. Explore low-cost prototyping techniques, mockups, and role-playing.
Testing
Validate your prototypes. Learn how to run user tests and iteratively refine ideas before investing in development.
